BlueStreak.com, an innovative Internet advertising and e-commerce technology provider,
today announced RichMail, an extension of its E*Banner and On-The-Fly offerings to the
powerful online merchandising channel - e-mail. Now merchants and agencies can capitalize
on rich media and transactions in their e-mail campaigns, pushing personalized,
interactive offers directly to the user's desktop. E-mail recipients can evaluate
offers and complete transactions directly within the e-mail, without needing to launch a
browser and click-through to a Web site.

RichMail is designed for online direct marketing agencies or merchants with in-house
e-mail marketing infrastructure, who execute e-mail marketing campaigns and manage address
lists for their clients. They can implement RichMail without additional tools or training
because it uses the same underlying technology as BlueStreak.com's On-The-Fly and
E*Banners. E*Banners are advanced rich media advertising and e-commerce solutions that
work effectively in today's low-bandwidth, mass-market Internet. On-The-Fly, a Java-based
authoring environment, enables easy creation and real-time management and manipulation of
the company's E*Banner ads.

RichMail allows merchants to deliver the sophisticated, multi-media and interactive
features of the merchant's Web site in an e-mail message. RichMail ads are served live
when the e-mail message is opened, so merchants can update a promotion in real-time. For
example, an inventory close-out sale could display how many items remain in stock and a
new lower price. If the buyer opened the e-mail again at a later time, the ad would
display a new item count and price. Because RichMail uses Java microapplets, merchants can
also get accurate detailed reports on how many e-mail messages were actually opened and
how the viewer interacted with the ad.
How RichMail Works
RichMail campaigns begin with content generated by an agency or an advertiser's internal
creative department, using BlueStreak.com's E*Banner and On-The-Fly. Using On-The-Fly,
advertisers can create, test and launch RichMail campaigns in just days, instead of weeks.
Advertisers can also easily incorporate package components, called ActionPaks, into the
e-mail ads to deliver extra capabilities such as streaming audio, e-commerce, information
exchange, etc. By using the powerful underlying E*Banner architecture, RichMail marketers
retain total control over the production, schedule and costs associated with ad creation.
Once advertisers and merchants complete the ad, they then place it on the BlueStreak.com
server. Using an e-mail distribution service, merchants can target the recipients of the
ads with an email message containing a brief snippet of HTML code. Once the recipient has
opened the mail, the e-mail calls the server and the ad loads, delivering it in real-time.
RichMail also uses On-The-Fly's reporting capabilities. Advertisers and merchants receive
leads, transactions and tracking reports through real-time reporting. Advertisers and ad
agencies can manage the ad campaign by measuring the effectiveness of the campaign in
real-time and change insertions and modify the creative content to improve campaign
effectiveness.
Availability
RichMail is available immediately from BlueStreak.com. RichMail works with any browser
that supports HTML and Java, including Outlook `98 and 2000, Outlook Express 4.0 and 5.0,
and Netscape Communicator 4.5. All ads are served from the BlueStreak.com server. RichMail
pricing varies by campaign, based on a CPM rate depending on volume; transactional
RichMail typically has part of the pricing based on performance.
